New EP + what I've been up to

The accidental hiatus is almost over!

Over the past month and a half this is a smidge of what I've been doing:

• On Stereogum, I wrote an Artist To Watch article about Fashion Club (who made my AOTY)

On Xtra, I profiled the wonderful Orla Gartland and we talked about my favorite subjects: excruciatingly intense homoerotic friendships and music production.

• On Pitchfork, I reviewed the gorgeous debut from Paris Paloma and the also gorgeous but lyrically challenged 10th record from Coldplay. What is life for if not thinking way too hard about British pop music?

In addition to all that, I also have a new project coming out tomorrow under my stage name The Answers In Between, titled Close Calls. I was inspired by the pop musicians in the NY DIY scene to embrace bigger choruses and stop taking myself so seriously. It’s the most earnest music I’ve made, and definitely the music of someone who just defended Coldplay on Pitchfork (lol), but there are also a handful of songs that are more lo-fi like "Where Do You Go" and "On Repeat." Maybe one of you can review this and give it a 6.8, ha!

Thanks to Merry-Go-Round Magazine for premiering the EP, you can stream it there right now or listen on all streaming services and platforms tomorrow. If you're reading this after October 11th, you can even stream it below!

I'm in the process of getting together more interviews for Nothing Deep To Say and it's a great lineup, so excited to share those interviews :)
